The Great Thrifty TV Debate

Do you have any thrifty ideas that you just can't seem to implement no matter how silly the reason?  I have one that nags at me and I need to make a decision to let it go or keep it and then just be done with it!  Mine is cable television.  I only watch 2 tv shows, Walking Dead with my husband and American Horror Story with my eldest daughter, then my husband watches Sons of Anarchy.  Literally the entire rest of the time the tube is hooked up to Netflix.  It's easier for me to monitor content and keep advertising away from the little ones on Netflix and frankly no one really wants to search to see what time something is on or suffer through the commercials on regular television.  Which brings us to another decidedly NONfrugal decision to add DVR, and not just DVR but DVR in 2 rooms.  Because there is no way we can always get to our shows at their original night and time, and waiting for reruns is just no fun.
So the dilemma is....  is it really worth paying for cable to watch 3 shows?  Probably not.  But I just can't bring myself to get it disconnected.

Do you have cable in your home?  Favorite shows? Television at all?

Do you have anything that you know would be thriftier if you changed but just can't bring yourself to?
